Dutch AI marketing startup Billy Grace raises €3m investment to fuel national and international growth

Dutch AI marketing startup Billy Grace, has raised €3 million investment from Fortino Capital and a number of angel investors. The investment comes after a growth of 700 percent in 2024 and will be used to scale up further nationally and internationally. The company now has users in the US, Germany, England and Sweden and is used by Otrium, Matt Sleeps, Stanley, Intratuin and DPG Media Group, among others.

AI gives marketers more time for creativity and strategy

Mitch Voskuilen , Founder and CEO, Billy Grace: ''Many marketers and marketing agencies struggle with the same challenge: there are more and more marketing channels and therefore more and more data. Each marketing channel has its own reporting tools, which does not make it clearer. Companies often struggle with the attribution of campaign funds: it is often guesswork which channels provide growth. AI solves these problems and shows which marketing euro yields a return.''

According to a recent survey , 87 percent of marketers fear AI will take their jobs. Billy Grace predicts a different future for marketers in the AI era. ''Marketing teams that use AI to automate digital advertising have more time to do work that people are better at. Our users report that they are more likely to spend time creating original campaigns and developing effective strategies. AI doesn’t make humans redundant; it actually frees them up.''

Growth of 700 percent in 2024

Since the startup's launch in the summer of 2022, the company has experienced significant growth. In 2023, Billy Grace reported a growth of 800 percent and in 2024 a growth of 700 percent. The startup is now the market leader in the Netherlands and active in the US, Germany, England and Sweden. Companies such as Intratuin, Holland Casino, Dekbed-Discounter, Otrium, DPG Media Group, Stanley, Matt Sleeps, Bouwmaat, Marie Stella Maris, The Sting, Cotton Club, Costes and Soldaat van Oranje use Billy Grace.

Mitch Voskuilen: ''We want to continue this upward trend. It is our ambition to conquer a larger share of the English, American and German markets. The big advantage is that as a SaaS company we can scale up more easily and the challenges of marketers are universal. The international expansion and rapid growth do require something of our operation: we are continuously looking for new colleagues.''

AI pioneer benefits from AI hype

Billy Grace also benefits from the increased interest in AI. Mitch Voskuilen: ''We spent years building Billy Grace, tested our platform with a limited number of partners and launched our company in 2022. At that time, there was not much attention for the opportunities of AI. Thanks to the popularity of ChatGPT, many companies have become curious about the possibilities of AI. Billy Grace benefits from the increased curiosity about AI.''

Wouter Goossens , Investment Director at Fortino Capital: ''Billy Grace’s vision is clear: AI helps marketers free up more time for tasks where people make the difference. That vision resonates with traditional companies, marketing agencies and young startups. We are only just discovering the possibilities of AI. In a few years, every marketing team will be using AI to make their marketing ‘smarter’. We look forward to making that future possible together with Billy Grace.''
