DoubleVerify extends measurement to Youtube audio

As advertisers allocate larger portions of their media budgets to audio, the company argues that measurement and transparency have become increasingly important

DoubleVerify has introduced AI-powered brand suitability reporting for YouTube Audio Ads campaigns, extending its post-bid measurement capabilities to YouTube’s listening-focused advertising format. The move aims to give advertisers greater visibility into the content surrounding audio ads as spending on audio environments continues to increase.

The company said the reporting solution allows advertisers to apply the same brand suitability standards used across video campaigns, helping them assess content alignment and campaign performance in audio-first environments.

Growing demand for audio advertising transparency

YouTube Audio Ads are designed for listening-focused experiences and typically combine audio with a static image or simple animation. The format appears across YouTube Music, podcast content on YouTube and other inventory where users are more likely to listen than actively watch.

As advertisers allocate larger portions of their media budgets to audio, the company argues that measurement and transparency have become increasingly important for maintaining brand safety and suitability standards.

AI analysis across multiple content signals

Steven Woolway, EVP of Business Development at DoubleVerify: "As audio consumption continues to grow, advertisers need the same level of transparency and control they expect across the broader digital ecosystem."

Steven Woolway: "With AI-powered brand suitability measurement, we’re extending the same trusted insights advertisers rely on for video into audio-forward environments, giving our customers the transparency and control needed to protect brand equity while scaling investment with confidence."

According to DoubleVerify, the reporting capability is powered by its Universal Content Intelligence technology, which classifies content using signals from audio, video, text and images.

Brand suitability measurement for audio content

For audio-focused environments, the platform uses AI models to analyze spoken language, sentiment, contextual indicators and metadata. DoubleVerify said this approach helps identify nuanced content and apply brand suitability standards consistently across campaigns.

The reporting solution forms part of the company’s Media AdVantage Platform, which combines media verification, advertising performance optimization and campaign measurement tools designed to improve media effectiveness and return on ad spend.

Broader focus on media quality

The launch follows DoubleVerify’s recent introduction of DV AI SlopStopper for Social, a solution aimed at helping advertisers identify and avoid low-quality AI-generated content across social media environments.

The company said both initiatives are intended to provide advertisers with greater control over media quality and stronger visibility into the environments in which their campaigns appear.
