Adams Outdoor boosts Triad presence with Toby Outdoor deal
Adams Outdoor Advertising has acquired additional assets from Toby Outdoor, strengthening its position in North Carolina’s Triad region. The acquisition adds nine billboard faces, including one premium digital location in Wilkesboro and two in Galax, Virginia, further expanding the company’s regional coverage and digital capabilities.
With the addition, Adams Outdoor now operates 34 digital faces across the Triad market—doubling its digital inventory in just one year. The move follows recent acquisitions of Sign Shoppe and Scotty Outdoor, which extended Adams’ footprint from western North Carolina and the Charlotte area to the state’s eastern coastline.
Strengthening digital reach across the Carolinas
Kevin Jones, CEO, Adams Outdoor Advertising: “This acquisition represents more than just growth — it’s a reflection of our ongoing commitment to invest in the markets we serve and to elevate the power of outdoor advertising. The Carolinas are on fire — with more and more people moving here every day. Businesses need smart, scalable ways to reach new residents and consumers. We have the out-of-home solutions to help brands speak directly to these growing communities, and we’re excited to lead that charge.”
The integration of Toby Outdoor’s assets will expand Adams’ network of high-visibility billboards, offering advertisers broader reach and enhanced flexibility through its growing portfolio of digital displays. The new locations are expected to improve campaign impact for regional and national clients operating across North Carolina.
Continued regional growth strategy
The acquisition marks another milestone in Adams Outdoor’s ongoing investment strategy, focused on strengthening its footprint across key southeastern markets. The company continues to build its digital out-of-home network to support advertisers with data-driven, location-based solutions that connect with fast-growing local audiences.
Chris Hannum of Culp, Elliott and Carpenter, PLLC in Charlotte represented the seller in the transaction.
