PUSH Media expands into U.S. with SCS acquisition
PUSH Media Inc. has acquired U.S.-based agency SCS (Schiefer Chopshop), marking its entry into the American market with offices in Los Angeles and Atlanta, alongside its Canadian hubs in Toronto and Ottawa. The move unites two independent agencies with complementary expertise in creative storytelling, media, and technology, forming a cross-border network built for the next phase of marketing.
The company also announced the appointment of Julie Berger as President, North America. Based in Los Angeles, Berger brings over two decades of experience from roles at Farmers Insurance, Giant Spoon, Initiative Media, Horizon Media, and GroupM. She will oversee PUSH’s operations across all markets and lead its transformation into what the company describes as an AI-native, human-powered marketing agency.
Strengthening presence across North America
Kyle Verge, Founder and CEO, PUSH Media: “This is a pivotal moment for our industry. We believe the future of the agency business lives at the intersection of AI, technology, and human brilliance. The acquisition of SCS gives us the scale, talent, and cultural depth to bring that vision to life across North America — to supercharge creativity with intelligence and empower our teams to deliver what technology alone can’t replicate.”
Through the acquisition, PUSH doubles its footprint to more than 65 full-time professionals, supported by 30 contractors and offshore partners. Founded in 1985, SCS brings a strong foundation in strategy, creative development, influencer marketing, and cultural insight, and has been featured multiple times on the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies list.
Integrating creative and technology-driven expertise
The expanded PUSH network now supports brands including Miele, Vans, Amy’s Kitchen, Falken Tires, Clover Leaf & Bumble Bee Seafoods, and Choice Hotels. Campaigns will be powered by PUSHTech™, the agency’s proprietary suite of over 20 integrated tools that deliver real-time performance insights, campaign intelligence, and media optimization. PUSH is also developing an AI marketing operating system aimed at redefining how agencies plan, create, and measure effectiveness in an increasingly automated environment.
Julie Berger: “PUSH is building something that no other independent agency is doing right now. It’s rare to find a company that truly sees AI not as a replacement for people, but as a way to unlock their full potential. I’m thrilled to help bring that vision to market, working with an incredible team that blends creativity, strategy, and technology in ways that move brands forward.”
Leadership evolution and future growth
The acquisition coincides with PUSH’s 13th anniversary, marking its evolution from a Canadian startup into one of North America’s most recognized independents. The agency has appeared on The Globe and Mail’s list of Canada’s Fastest Growing Companies for four consecutive years.
This announcement follows the appointment of Gino Cantalini as Chief Brand Officer, highlighting PUSH’s focus on strengthening senior leadership. James Schiefer now serves as Board Advisor to the agency, supporting its continued growth strategy across the continent.
