Hearst Magazines appoints Juliana Stock as president

Hearst Magazines operates a portfolio of more than 30 brands in the United States, alongside 175 websites and more than 200 magazine editions worldwide.

Hearst has appointed Juliana Stock as president of Hearst Magazines, succeeding Debi Chirichella, who will become chair of the publishing group. The leadership changes, announced by Hearst president and chief executive officer Steven R. Swartz, will take effect on January 1, 2027.

Stock, currently president of marketing and digital at A+E Global Media, will report to Swartz and Jordan Wertlieb, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Hearst. Chirichella, who has led Hearst Magazines since 2020, will remain closely involved in the business as chair and senior strategic advisor.

Juliana Stock takes leadership of Hearst Magazines

Steven R. Swartz, president and chief executive officer of Hearst: "We welcome Juliana back to the magazine business after more than a decade of leadership positions across digital video, marketing and general management at our A+E Networks. With Debi’s help, she will build on our great brands and great people to lead the next phase of growth in this business in which we have enjoyed a leadership position for more than 100 years."

Jordan Wertlieb, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Hearst: "Juliana is the right leader for Hearst Magazines at this important moment. We’re fortunate that Debi will stay closely involved as chair and a senior strategic advisor."

Stock brings A+E Global Media experience

Juliana Stock: "Hearst Magazines sets the standard for lifestyle journalism, and I’m honored to join a group with such powerful brands and such a talented team. Audiences are engaging with our content in more ways than ever, including digitally, and there’s a real opportunity to deepen those connections while continuing to deliver the trusted, high-quality print experiences our readers love. I’m grateful to Steve, Jordan and Debi for their confidence and excited to get to work."

Debi Chirichella: "It has been a privilege to lead Hearst Magazines and the extraordinary journalists, editors and teams who make it the world’s largest lifestyle publisher. I’m proud of what we’ve built together, and as chair I look forward to supporting Juliana and our domestic and international teams as we continue to grow these iconic brands."

Stock was promoted to president of marketing and digital at A+E Global Media in 2025. She oversaw trade and global consumer marketing, digital strategy and audience engagement across brands including A&E, HISTORY, Lifetime, FYI and LMN.

She also oversaw audience development across social media platforms and YouTube, including digital content such as Command Decisions: Presidents on the Brink, featuring historian Doris Kearns Goodwin.

Since joining A+E Global Media in 2013, Stock has held several senior positions, including chief marketing and brand officer, chief of staff to the president and chairman, and senior vice president of corporate brand strategy.

Previous experience at Condé Nast

Before joining A+E Global Media, Stock spent more than a decade at Condé Nast, where she contributed to the launch of the publisher's early websites and iOS magazine applications for titles including WIRED, GQ and Vanity Fair.
