Hearst brings Esquire brand to French market

Hearst Magazines International and Bruno Danto will launch Esquire France in spring 2026 as a quarterly print edition, accompanied by a website and social media presence.

The French edition will feature original content tailored to local audiences, including Monaco and St. Barth, while drawing on the magazine’s global tradition of fashion, sport and lifestyle coverage.

The launch will also introduce the Esquire Club, a membership program offering readers and partners access to cultural experiences, private events and curated gatherings.

Bruno Danto, publisher and editorial director, Esquire France: "It is an honor to have been chosen by Hearst Magazines International to launch in France such an iconic title, which since 1933 has featured the people who shape the world. At a time when men’s style and luxury are exploring new territories — particularly in sport — and when brands are reinventing themselves through digital and experiential platforms, it is the ideal moment to bring Esquire to France."

Esquire France will follow the magazine’s tradition of combining feature writing with photography and design, while adapting its editorial voice to a French and international readership.

Kim St. Clair Bodden, SVP/global editorial and brand director, Hearst Magazines International: "For more than 90 years, Esquire has celebrated style, culture and conversation across the globe. To now see that legacy extend to France feels both natural and exciting. Few places embody a spirit of creativity and sophistication more fully, and Esquire is eager to add its voice to that dialogue."

Bruno Danto began his career at Le Monde before founding Sport&Style in 2004 in partnership with L’Équipe and Condé Nast. He later served as editor-in-chief of Vogue Hommes International and worked as chief creative officer on projects including the Longines Masters and Rolex Masters. In 2023, he launched the Swerve Festival in Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the Royal Commission for AlUla.

To bring Esquire to France, Danto has formed Kerroc Media with a team of partners:

Youri Djorkaeff, FIFA World Cup champion and advisor to the president of FIFA, joins as founding partner, bringing experience at the intersection of sport, culture and media.

Didier Suberbielle, former CEO of Condé Nast France and chairman of Caviar Prunier, will serve as strategic advisor with a focus on brand development and publishing.

Ken Masui, a Paris- and Tokyo-based creative entrepreneur, will act as creative director and investor, drawing on his international network and creative collaborations.

Bruno Danto: "Paris continues to inspire the world through luxury, gastronomy, fashion, design, sport and lifestyle. Our ambition is to deliver a multiplatform media brand that speaks to the modern man who wants to be inspired, informed and entertained by journalistic content and curated events of uncompromising quality, and that is Esquire."
