Vodafone Spain launches AMC's streaming service Acorn TV

Vodafone TV will include Acorn TV , AMC Networks' streaming service specializing in British series and series from other English-speaking countries, on November 3 exclusively in its content offering . Acorn TV, which already has more than a million subscribers in the US, offers the largest selection of television content from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and Canada.
 
Vodafone TV customers will enjoy these contents throughout the month of November at no additional cost. As of December, they can contract the service for € 3.99 per month. Included as on-demand content on Vodafone TV, Acorn TV presents the best drama, comic and mystery series, in their dubbed and subtitled versions.

Among the most acclaimed drama series in the Acorn TV catalog is Doc Martin, a recent classic about an egocentric surgeon forced to relocate to a small fishing town; the Irish procedural production Striking Out; the intriguing Jack Taylor, based on Ken Bruenno's bestsellers and starring Iain Glen ("Game of Thrones"); the charming Agatha Christie's Partners in Crime; the crime series The Level, with an upscale cast that includes James-Collier ('Downtown Abbey'); or the miniseries Collision, headed by Douglas Henshall ('Shetland') and considered "terribly addictive" by The Telegraph.
 
For fans of British comedies , Acorn TV offers productions such as Detectorists, a BAFTA-winning series written, directed and starring Mackenzie Crook ('The Office') alongside Toby Jones ('The Hunger Games'), Rachael Stirling ('The Women of Bletchley') and Diana Rigg ('Game of Thrones') in the cast. Other comedies available through the service are Finding Joy, starring Irish comedians Aisling Bea and Amy Huberman (who also stars in 'Striking Out'); and Kingdom with the great Stephen Fry, a living legend of English humor.
 
In the mystery section , subscribers will be able to watch George Gently, the acclaimed BBC series starring Tony-nominated actor Martin Shaw ('Judge John Deed', 'The Professionals'); the award-winning Foyle's War, set in World War I and described by The New York Times as “a gift from the gods”; or Indian Summers, a drama starring Julie Walters ('Harry Potter', 'Billy Elliot') about the last years of British colonial rule, a production considered by The Hollywood Reporter as “captivating and delightfully luminous.”
