Havas Media Network retains £300m BBC Media account

The BBC has reappointed Havas Media Network to handle its media planning and buying following a six-month review. The contract, valued at around £300 million over six years, will see Havas continue to promote the broadcaster’s services across multiple paid channels.

The agency’s remit covers paid social, digital video, audio and display, out of home, cinema, commercial radio and press, complementing campaigns across the BBC’s own channels. In line with the BBC’s charter commitments, Havas will also prioritise reaching under-served audiences.

Long-standing partnership extended

The review, supported by The Aperto Partnership, concluded with Havas successfully defending the account against three rival agencies. Havas Media Network has worked with the BBC since 2015 and last retained the account in 2019.

Nicki Brown, Director of Media, BBC: "We were very impressed with the thinking and commitment from all the agencies that took part in the review and look forward to working with Havas for the next phase of our journey."

Patrick Affleck, CEO, Havas Media Network: "We’re thrilled to be continuing our long-standing partnership with the BBC. It’s a privilege to help the BBC build more meaningful connections with audiences across the UK, and we look forward to supporting them on the next phase of their marketing transformation."

The six-year contract represents an estimated annual spend of £50 million. The renewed partnership underscores the BBC’s focus on ensuring audiences are aware of its programmes and services, particularly those who are less engaged with traditional broadcasting.
