EssenceMediacom retains Uber APAC media account
WPP Media's EssenceMediacom has retained Uber's media account across Asia-Pacific following a competitive regional review, extending a partnership that has been in place since 2017.
The agency will continue to manage Uber's media operations through a connected regional model spanning Australia and New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. The account will remain led from Australia by Client Managing Partner Maddison Keogh, who will oversee teams across the seven markets.
EssenceMediacom said the model combines local market expertise with a unified regional strategy to deliver culturally relevant campaigns while ensuring consistency, governance and scale across APAC.
Pippa Berlocher of EssenceMediacom welcomed the renewed partnership, saying the agency's integration of data, technology, creativity and human expertise would continue to support Uber's growth across the region.
Uber's Global Head of Media, Lee Walsh, said the decision followed a thorough request for proposal (RFP) process, with EssenceMediacom standing out for its local market expertise, strategic capabilities and vision for leveraging data, technology and AI to drive the company's next phase of growth.
