ARD, ZDF integrate Funk content in media libraries

ARD and ZDF integrated the range of funk, the joint content network, into their media libraries. Both broadcasters are thus continuing the mutual networking of their non-linear offers. Thanks to the networked search and the shared login function, the media libraries are already more transparent.

Eckart Gaddum, Head of main editorial office for new media at ZDF: "It's about making the valuable, public-law content easier to find for our users."

Benjamin Fischer, Director of ARD Online: "With the presence of the partner channels in the media library and the user-oriented networking, we have made our entire offer even better. We are currently working on the integration of the content of other partner channels.''

funk is the content network of ARD and ZDF that offers online content for a young target group. The formats from the areas of information, orientation and entertainment can be found on Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat and Instagram as well as on funk.net.

Since the start of the offer in 2016, a steadily growing proportion of 14 to 29 year olds has been reached by funk content. A representative online survey (SWR and ZDF media research) from 2020 shows: 70 percent of 14 to 29-year-olds have used radio formats before. Awareness of the funk brand and its formats is 82 percent.
