Xfinity reimagines Jurassic Park with seamless connectivity
Comcast's Xfinity is making its Super Bowl debut with a campaign that reimagines the 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park. The first national Big Game ad from Xfinity, titled "Jurassic Park…Works," explores what the iconic park could have been like with reliable Xfinity WiFi, mobile, and smart home connectivity.
The campaign forms part of the "Xfinity Imagine That" platform, highlighting how seamless connectivity enhances everyday life.
Jon Gieselman, Chief Growth Officer, Comcast: "By asking what Jurassic Park could have been with Xfinity’s fast, secure WiFi, we’re creating a fun, cultural crossover only Comcast NBCUniversal could deliver, combining blockbuster storytelling with real-world technology that protects, connects, and powers millions of customers every day." David O’Connor, Chief Brand Officer at Universal Entertainment, added: "This partnership with Xfinity allows fans to experience that world in a completely fresh way. By combining the timeless characters and iconic moments of the original film with modern technology, we’re celebrating the legacy of Jurassic Park while introducing it to a new generation."
Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum reprise their roles as Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Ian Malcolm. In this version, Xfinity’s connectivity prevents the park’s system failures, allowing the characters to experience Jurassic Park without chaos: Sattler streams music while running with dinosaurs, Malcolm watches a series poolside, and Grant livestreams his T. rex encounter using Xfinity Mobile.
The campaign features John Williams’ classic score, visual effects by Industrial Light & Magic, and is directed by Taika Waititi. Created in collaboration with Universal Pictures, Amblin Entertainment, Xfinity Creative, and Goodby Silverstein & Partners, the campaign maintains the original film’s authenticity through original costumes and set designs.
Xfinity customers can access Jurassic Park content and the ad through the Xfinity Voice Remote. In San Francisco, the campaign includes Jurassic Park-themed Lyft rides, dinosaur projections at the Hobart Building, and appearances by Universal Orlando Resort’s baby raptor.
Jon Gieselman noted that "Xfinity Imagine That" emphasizes how Xfinity combines fast internet, mobile service, and entertainment experiences, allowing users to connect devices, stream content, and enjoy live TV seamlessly.
