Studio Private crafts Nike Basketball film

Studio Private has delivered the refined edit and integrated VFX for Fit for a King, the newest chapter in Nike Basketball’s ongoing collaboration with the agency. Directed by Misha Taylor and featuring Bronny James, the film showcases Studio Private’s technical control and visual style, turning a minimal setup into a powerful, cinematic piece.

Following He Is The Forever King, this chapter introduces the LeBron XXIII The Chosen One and the One Who Chose, marking the historic moment when LeBron and Bronny James became the first father–son duo to play together in an NBA game.

London team shapes rhythm, light and performance

Led by editor Adam Muscat and VFX artist Louisiane Trotobas, Studio Private focused on rhythm, texture and light to shape the film’s atmosphere. Their approach highlights the intensity of performance through restraint and precision, giving each movement intention and weight.

Muscat, who previously led sound and edit for Nike DN8, brings a deep understanding of the relationship between light, shadow, image and sound. His work frames Bronny James’s performance as a controlled, expressive visual study. Trotobas, whose experience includes campaigns for Miu Miu Upcycled, Loewe X ON and Nike X ACW, blends design and modern VFX to create visuals that remain subtle yet substantial.

Leadership perspectives

Bianca Redgrave, Managing Director, Studio Private: "We’re a well-oiled team. Because we don’t work in silos, our edit and VFX departments collaborate in real time, constantly pushing the creative forward. That cohesion is what gives Fit for a King its clarity and strength."

Adam Muscat: "With Fit for a King, it’s exciting to be able to fuse the worlds of filmmaking and sport through an artistic lens. Fashion film is evolving rapidly, giving us the freedom to shape each piece with our own sense of style, emotion, and visual storytelling, transforming conventional advertisements into short works of art."

Nike continues partnership with Studio Private

The final film offers a focused portrait that balances athletic performance with the engineered craft of Nike’s design. By refining the connection between character, motion and form, Studio Private delivers a campaign with the precision and emotional depth that characterise Nike Basketball’s strongest work, reinforcing a partnership built on shared creative ambition.
