Rogers celebrates Canadian hockey heritage with patchwork jersey
Rogers Communications has unveiled The Great Canadian Jersey, a symbol of national unity and the latest installment of the This Is Our Game campaign.
Handcrafted by former OHL player turned fashion designer Cameron Lizotte, the patchwork design incorporates pieces of hockey jerseys from every province and territory, celebrating Canada’s deep history with the sport.
The jersey also features patches from all seven Canadian NHL teams, iconic minor league jerseys—including Connor McDavid’s York Simcoe Express, Marie-Philip Poulin’s Montreal Victoire, and Sarah Nurse’s Ancaster Avalanche—as well as women’s, girl’s, beer league, and old-timer teams.
To launch the initiative, Team Rogers athlete and Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid was the first to try on the jersey, which began with a donation drive of hundreds of hockey jerseys contributed by fans nationwide.

Terrie Tweddle, Chief Brand and Communications Officer, Rogers: "The Great Canadian Jersey is an artistic celebration of how hockey connects Canadians. We’re grateful to fans who donated a jersey from their own collections to show pride for our game."
Cameron Lizotte: "Every stitch is intentional, and every patch has meaning. Together, the jersey is a symbol of unity and a single expression of Canadian identity."
Rogers and Lizotte crafted five unique versions of The Great Canadian Jersey, to be worn by Canada’s top hockey players over the coming weeks and featured in a national advertising campaign celebrating the country’s love of the game.
