Quo uses Octopus Mascot to spotlight AI tools
AI-powered business communications platform Quo has launched a brand campaign aimed at increasing awareness of its recently rebranded platform and promoting its customer communication tools to growing businesses in the US and Canada.
Created and produced by Papaya Films, the “Grow with Quo” campaign introduces a multitasking octopus character designed to represent the platform’s ability to help businesses manage multiple customer conversations simultaneously.
Campaign focuses on multitasking businesses
The campaign launched across television and streaming platforms in the US and Canada and follows Quo’s recent rebrand from OpenPhone.
Directed by Richard Hunter, the 60-second film opens on a construction site where workers struggle to balance operational tasks with incoming customer calls. The advert then introduces Quo as a solution that helps businesses manage communications while continuing day-to-day work.
As the story develops, workers transform into animated octopus characters capable of handling phones, laptops, plans, and tools simultaneously. The campaign later shifts to a real estate office before ending with a wider city scene populated by Quo’s octopus mascots.
Papaya Films delivers campaign in eight weeks
Papaya Films combined live-action production, visual effects, and character transformations to deliver the campaign within an eight-week production timeline.
The company said the campaign is intended to support brand awareness, product trials, sign-ups, and workspace creation for Quo.
Richard Huffaker, Senior Director of Creative Marketing, Quo: “This marks a significant step forward for us as we expand into brand and awareness marketing. When Papaya introduced the octopus as our hero character, it immediately felt like the perfect fit - capturing Quo’s ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time!”
Brand campaign supports Quo rebrand
Wojtek Skiba, Executive Producer, Papaya Films: “Working directly with the brand team at Quo was an amazing experience from the very beginning. Their brief had everything we needed to get creative and nothing that brought us down to earth. They allowed us to be as simple as necessary to clearly introduce Quo to the wider audience.”
The campaign reinforces the platform’s positioning around helping businesses avoid missed customer calls and messages while focusing on operational tasks.
Quo said the campaign forms part of its wider growth strategy following its transition from the OpenPhone brand identity.
