O2 expands ‘near or far’ campaign across the UK
O2, UK mobile network, has expanded its Near or Far campaign to showcase the reach of its mobile network across both urban and rural parts of the UK. The campaign, created by VCCP, highlights how O2’s network connects people in even the most remote locations.
Following its initial launch last month, the campaign now extends beyond traditional media, appearing in unexpected places such as on the side of sheep and on golf balls lost in the rough—each representing surprising spots with reliable O2 coverage.
The campaign continues to underline O2’s industry recognition for network performance, including its coverage award from Uswitch, and its ongoing commitment to network infrastructure investment.

At its centre is a cinematic short film developed by VCCP with production company Academy Films and director Frédéric Planchon. Produced in collaboration with Girl&Bear, VCCP’s global content studio, the 40-second film tells the story of a daughter calling her father from a remote Welsh landscape to share news of her new job as a teacher.
Through its emotional narrative, the film demonstrates how O2’s network enables meaningful moments, even across distance. Featuring the track Obvs by Jamie xx, the campaign positions O2’s network as the invisible link that keeps people connected—summed up in the line: Near or far, our network is with you.
