Minecraft enlists Ice Cube for ‘Cube Claims’ campaign

Minecraft has teamed up with AKQA and Ice Cube for a social-first campaign that brings the rapper and actor into the game’s universe in an unexpected role: an insurance claims adjuster. The initiative, designed to celebrate the game’s mix of creation and destruction, encourages players to reclaim lost items and moments with a humorous twist.

The campaign begins with six short films starring Ice Cube in his “Ice Cubicle,” where he reviews community-submitted Cube Claims. Players are invited to share their own in-game mishaps, which are then judged by Ice Cube in exaggerated, comedic ways. Additional content will feature five gaming creators alongside real-time brand responses to fan submissions.

Beyond social media, the campaign also lives inside the game through a custom Marketplace Add-On. The Insurance Adjuster feature allows players to retrieve items after dying, spawning an NPC who can return inventory, hand out bonuses, or trigger a boss fight with special rewards such as custom items and trophies.

By pairing Minecraft with Ice Cube, the campaign seeks to connect with multiple generations of fans. Minecraft offers nostalgia for parents and fresh creativity for younger players, while Ice Cube brings cultural resonance across audiences. The combination is positioned as a playful celebration of risk, reward, and resilience within the game’s world.
