[Marketing Week] Bob Koigi: Food industry brands are driving creativity with innovative campaigns

In an era defined by rapid technological advancements and changing consumer preferences, the food industry is witnessing a rebirth of creativity in marketing strategies.

Brands are stepping outside traditional advertising boundaries, engaging customers through innovative campaigns that resonate on personal, social, and digital levels.

Consumers today are not only interested in what they eat but also in where it comes from and the stories behind it. Brands are leveraging this narrative-driven approach to craft compelling stories about their origins, production processes, and sustainability practices.

Innovative food campaigns

In the recent past we have covered innovative campaigns by food brands that are pushing the envelope on creativity.

The ‘Geeta bit naughty’ campaign, shows Geeta’s products being used in unusual ways - so unusual, in fact, that the foods in question have been pixelated, to avoid offending purists. The work was created by agency Insiders.

Hilltop, the UK’s second largest honey brand, is making a bold splash with its first-ever brand campaign, "For Honey Heads". The campaign depicts Hilltop consumers who are obsessed with Hilltop, its delicious flavour and versatility. The ‘Honey Heads’ are a fun, quirky celebration of serious honey-lovers who take their passion to new heights.

And Carrefour recently announced that it is relaunching its global programme, Act For Food, reinforcing its leadership in the food transition for all.  For this relaunch, Carrefour, together with its partner Publicis Conseil, has created an international, emotional campaign, close to consumers, placing taste and the brand at the heart of their daily lives.
