Highsnobiety taps Morgan Ruby as creative director and Sofia Ewuraesi Bodger as strategy director

Global youth culture publisher Highsnobiety has announced the hiring of Sofia Ewuraesi Bodger and Morgan Ruby as a part of strategic + creative leadership in Amsterdam, effective April 2024.

Sofia Ewuraesi Bodger has been leading streetwear brands at Bartle Bogle Hegarty and Analogfolk Amsterdam —connecting both a brand strategy and digital innovation background. From Foot Locker, Nike, Marshall to Tommy Hilfiger, she has consistently bridged the gap between streetwear and culture to drive meaningful change. Outside of the day-to-day Sofia co-founded Unsigned—an exhibition to place diverse artists on the creative industry's radar, as well as working to bring the next generation of diverse talent into advertising with programmes such as PlusPlusOne and Creative Mentor Network. As well as winning the BIMA100 Rising Star award, as well as Pitch Lists Super People.

Sofia Ewuraesi Bodger: "I am very excited to be joining Highsnobiety. My experience working between brand and digital allows me to place culture and brand action at the core of my strategies — I look forward to continuing this work and to actively shape the role brands play in culture."

At Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam, Morgan Ruby headed-up Bodega—a creative studio of chronically-online misfits making social-first work. By flipping the script, they let culture, not a brand or business problem, inform their starting point. In joining Highsnobiety, she brings an extensive (some may say obsessive) understanding of pop culture, non-cringe social posting, and a passion for building inclusive, fun environments. Prior to W+K, Morgan was in her Silicon Valley era—designing alongside the Airbnb rebrand team in 2014, and under industry icons at Apple for the launch of  iOS11. She joined Nike’s European Brand Creative Team in 2017, where for 6 years she led design & art direction across a wide array of projects ranging from Kobe Bryant basketball pop-ups to Kylian Mbappé’s Instagram profile picture. Morgan is particularly proud of her work with Nike Women—where she led creative for NikeSync’s period campaign—winning the team a Cannes Lion Grand Prix in 2021.

Morgan Ruby: "I'm stoked to be joining Highsnobiety. I believe the future of great brand work is deeply connected to the communities and spaces where culture starts and spreads—online, in the streets, and in editorial (specifically, Highsnobiety.) The HS+ agency sits in a rich intersection of youth culture and trend, laying out an expansive zone of play for us to create in. I’m very much looking forward to guiding our team of top-tier talent and contributing to the iconic suite of work."

Munise Can, Highsnobiety’s SVP & General Manager HS+ Europe: "We are proud to welcome both Morgan and Sofia and continue growing the Amsterdam team since our opening in 2021. “With their unique blend of creativity and strategic insight, Morgan and Sofia embody the spirit of Highsnobiety - where the future of culture is not just observed but actively shaped."
