Dr. Squatch rewrites deodorant rules with classroom ad
Dr. Squatch has launched a new marketing campaign promoting its Invisible Glide and Spray deodorants, fronted by actor Megan Fox in a fictional educator role designed to highlight concerns around conventional deodorant ingredients.
The campaign positions Fox as “Professor Fox” within a branded concept called the Foundation for Odor Excellence, where she introduces consumers to what the company describes as more natural alternatives to mainstream deodorant products.
Campaign uses classroom-style storytelling
The initiative is structured as a six-part content series distributed across Dr. Squatch’s owned and paid social channels. Each instalment places Fox in a classroom and laboratory setting, where she discusses ingredient composition, product performance and personal care habits.
The narrative extends into different scenarios, including social and dating contexts, as part of a broader effort to position deodorant choice as part of lifestyle and grooming standards.
Megan Fox, actor: "There are a lot of smelly, low-performing sticks out there, and what's inside them is even worse: synthetic ingredients that have no business being on a human body. The good news is that Dr. Squatch's deodorant is made with over 98% natural ingredients, and built around scents worth bragging about, so you can finally let your stick do the talking – bonus points if it's the new Coastal Mist Invisible Glide deodorant. They've done the work, now all you need to do is show up to class."
John Ludeke, Chief Brand Officer at Dr. Squatch, said the campaign is intended to reposition expectations in the men’s grooming category, citing a focus on natural ingredients and product performance.
John Ludeke, Chief Brand Officer, Dr. Squatch: "The men's deodorant aisle has been coasting for decades, and guys have been paying the price with unnatural, synthetic ingredients, and scents reminiscent of a 2004 middle school locker room. Dr. Squatch was built to fix the product gap with natural ingredients and formulas & formats that actually perform, and who better to get men to listen than Megan Fox?"
Creative format built around product education
The campaign includes a series of themed episodes, each focused on different aspects of deodorant use, ingredient composition and product performance. Topics range from everyday grooming habits to product comparisons, framed through a classroom-style narrative.
The creative approach aims to differentiate the brand in a competitive personal care market by combining humour, storytelling and ingredient-led messaging.
New deodorant range introduced
The campaign centres on two products: Invisible Glide, a clear, aluminium-free deodorant formulated with 98 percent natural origin ingredients, and Spray Deodorant, which offers up to 72 hours of odour protection in a fast-drying format.
Both products are positioned as alternatives to conventional deodorants, with availability across the brand’s website and major retail chains including Target, Walmart, Kroger, CVS, Walgreens and H-E-B.
