Diet Coke makes a splash with passion-driven campaign

Diet Coke has launched the next phase of its This Is My Taste campaign, once again featuring actor Jamie Dornan. Created by Ogilvy, the work focuses on celebrating personal passions, with Dornan sharing his enthusiasm for cold-water swimming to inspire audiences to embrace their own unique tastes.

The creative is built around the insight that the average Diet Coke break lasts just eight minutes. The campaign encourages people to reclaim that time for activities that recharge and express their individuality.

Shot at Shepperton Open Water Swim in Surrey, the hero film shows Dornan enjoying an ice-cold Diet Coke before plunging into the water. Along the way, he meets characters taking their own breaks in distinctive ways, from bird spotting to radio-controlled boating and paddleboarding.

The campaign includes a multi-channel rollout across Great Britain and Ireland, supported by earned media, social media, and influencer marketing. Fans are also invited to design a virtual Diet Coke can through the Coke app to reflect their personal style.

Tara Byrnes, Senior Brand Manager, Diet Coke Great Britain: "The average Diet Coke break is eight minutes, creating a small but powerful moment to recharge. Jamie Dornan’s passion for cold-water swimming helps inspire others to embrace what they love."

Jamie Dornan: "Cold-water swimming is a passion that’s become very important to me. I hope sharing it inspires others to take a moment for themselves, crack open an ice-cold Diet Coke, and explore their own personal tastes."
