Courage takes on creative mandate for Clutch
The agency will lead creative strategy and brand communications as Clutch works to expand its position in the Canadian automotive market.
Courage has been appointed creative agency of record for Clutch, an online used-car retailer in Canada, following a competitive review.
The account marks Courage’s entry into the automotive sector. Its remit will cover brand strategy, platform evolution and campaign development, with the first work from the partnership scheduled to launch in January 2027.
Courage takes on Clutch brand strategy
Clutch operates an online model designed to simplify the car-buying and selling process, with a focus on convenience, transparency and consumer control. As the company enters its next stage of growth, Courage will develop creative work aimed at strengthening the brand while supporting business objectives.
Tom Kenny, Partner and Global CSO, Courage: "Clutch is exactly the kind of business we love partnering with: ambitious, disruptive and willing to challenge how an entire category operates," said Tom Kenny, Partner and Global CSO, Courage. "They've already reimagined the experience of buying and selling a car. Our opportunity is to make the brand as distinctive as the business behind it."
Clutch targets greater consumer awareness
The appointment comes as Clutch continues to invest in its position in Canada’s automotive market and seeks to increase awareness and consideration among consumers.
Mark Arvai, Head of Brand Marketing, Clutch: "We were looking for a creative partner that understood both where Clutch is today and the scale of where we want to take it, collaboratively with our creative leadership," said Mark Arvai, Head of Brand Marketing. "Courage demonstrated a strong understanding of our business, our customer and the opportunity to create a brand that stands apart in a category that has historically looked and sounded very similar."
Agency expands automotive and North American roster
Courage’s work for Clutch will encompass the development of brand strategy, evolution of the brand platform and integrated campaign activity. The first campaign work is expected to launch in January 2027.
The appointment adds to Courage’s client roster as the independent agency continues its expansion across Canada and the United States.
