Coca-Cola updates Freestyle dispenser platform

The Coca-Cola Company has unveiled a series of updates to its Freestyle beverage dispenser platform, introducing connected and modular equipment designed to accelerate drink development and expand customization across restaurants, bars, and hospitality venues.

The company said the developments reflect a broader strategy to use real-time consumer data and connected dispensing technology to respond more quickly to changing beverage preferences.

Freestyle data shapes drink development

According to The Coca-Cola Company, Freestyle dispensers now process data from around 11 million servings each day, helping the company identify emerging flavour trends and launch beverages more quickly than traditional product development methods.

The company said Freestyle can now move from insight to market-ready beverage in as little as 90 days, compared with an industry process that can take up to 18 months.

Examples highlighted by Coca-Cola included Fanta Crimson Sour Cherry for White Castle and Sprite Loco Lime for Wingstop, both developed and launched within three months.

Megan Tallman, Vice President, Foodservice Innovation and Equipment, North America Operating Unit, The Coca-Cola Company: “With live data from roughly 11 million servings per day, Coca Cola Freestyle is the largest, live consumer taste test in the world.”

Coca-Cola introduces updated Freestyle platform

The company will showcase the latest equipment developments during the National Restaurant Show in Chicago from 16 to 19 May.

Among the updates is Freestyle Equinox, a redesigned user interface launching in the US on 23 June 2026. The interface introduces immersive visuals and increased visibility for limited-time and featured drinks.

The Coca-Cola Company also highlighted its modular Freestyle architecture, which allows dispenser configurations to be adapted for different spaces and beverage categories.

New modular additions include self-cleaning nozzles, remote sweetener systems, cup and lid holders, and bag-in-box weigh stations designed to improve inventory visibility for operators.

Freestyle Mini expands into smaller venues

The company is also introducing Freestyle Mini in the US following an earlier rollout in Europe.

The smaller-format unit is designed for bars, cafés, and hospitality environments with limited counter space while still supporting Freestyle customisation capabilities through up to 16 cartridges and two bag-in-box systems.

The Coca-Cola Company additionally announced a non-alcoholic mixology dispenser developed in partnership with Micro Matic.

The system combines sodas, teas, coffees, syrups, and dairy alternatives to create customised beverages for both staff-served and self-service environments.

Hydrous design system unifies equipment range

All of the new dispensing systems share a visual design language called Hydrous, which Coca-Cola said will create a consistent look and feel across its global dispenser fleet.

Gigy Philip, Vice President, Global Equipment Platforms, The Coca-Cola Company: “We’re evolving our dispense equipment into a connected, intelligent platform where every pour strengthens our understanding of consumers and every unit becomes part of a global network.”

The company linked the initiative to its long-standing role in fountain beverages, tracing its origins back to the first Coca-Cola serving at Jacob’s Pharmacy in Atlanta in 1886.
