Coca-Cola encourages shared meals in global campaign

The campaign targets Gen Z and Millennial audiences by highlighting the value of spending time together around the table.

The Coca-Cola Company is launching a global campaign, The World Will Wait, encouraging people to step away from everyday distractions and make time for shared meals. Rolling out globally from 3 August, the campaign targets Gen Z and Millennial audiences by highlighting the value of spending time together around the table.

The campaign explores the tension between responding to the constant demands of modern life and creating opportunities for face-to-face connection. Coca-Cola positions shared meals as moments that should take priority over everyday interruptions.

Campaign focuses on real-world connections

The integrated campaign includes two films, Laptop Face and The Most Important Meeting, which depict people choosing to leave work and digital distractions behind to share a meal with family and friends.

Arnab Roy: "In a world that constantly demands our attention, we've observed a growing tension among our consumers – especially younger generations – who truly desire genuine connection but often feel overwhelmed by the urgent pressures of daily life. The World Will Wait is designed to inspire us and remind everyone that some moments are simply too important to postpone. We want to rekindle the joy of shared meals, positioning Coca-Cola as the perfect companion that brings people together."

Influencers and OOH support campaign rollout

The campaign also includes an influencer programme built around the gaming term AFK (Away From Keyboard), encouraging people to spend less time online and more time sharing meals with others.

Out-of-home and digital advertising will reinforce the campaign with messages including Laundry can wait. Fried Chicken & Coca-Cola can't and No one ever said "this meal could have been an email." Digital activations will also offer rewards designed to encourage consumers to create more shared meal occasions.
