Cheil puts Hanwha Vision AI to work on film set

The technology captured high-resolution video and detailed data around the clock, with real-time analysis intended to support efficiency and safety during production.

Cheil Korea partnered with Hanwha Vision to demonstrate how the company's AI-enabled cameras and software can support businesses and industries by putting the technology to work during the production of a commercial starring Hollywood actress Amanda Seyfried.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Michael Gracey, the commercial follows Seyfried through a larger-than-life screen test. At the same time, Hanwha Vision's technology was used to monitor the production environment, turning the film set into a demonstration of the company's AI vision capabilities.

The production was equipped with 42 AI-enabled cameras before crew activity began. Throughout the shoot, the cameras and software monitored, recorded and analysed the soundstage, capturing video and data around people, movement, safety, workflow and operational behaviour.

Tal Shub, Global Executive Creative Director at Cheil Korea: "Using the product in an unconventional way is what makes this work truly stand out in the category. The teams at Cheil and Hanwha Vision crafted a campaign that doesn’t just deliver a memorable message — it proves the real power of the technology."

The film set was selected as a testing environment because its complexity brings together challenges found across several industries served by Hanwha Vision, including traffic management, access control, crowd flow and asset protection.

The footage and data generated during the production became central to the campaign, appearing across behind-the-scenes content, social media, out-of-home advertising, the campaign website and trade show materials.

Now You See campaign puts AI vision to the test

Hanwha Vision: "This campaign was never just a commercial — it was living proof of what our AI vision solutions can do. 42 cameras, 7,014 hours of footage, and 319 people on a working soundstage gave us the most demanding test environment we could ask for, and our technology delivered."

The global Now You See campaign will run throughout the year, with Cheil Korea serving as the creative agency.
