Bauer Media Outdoor ad spotlights urban greening

Created by Bauer Media Outdoor’s in-house Design team, the campaign celebrates a decade of collaboration focused on urban tree planting, community action and greener public spaces.

Bauer Media Outdoor is marking 10 years of collaboration with environmental charity Trees for Cities with an out-of-home campaign highlighting the role of trees and green spaces in urban communities. The campaign will run across Bauer Media Outdoor’s digital OOH network nationwide. The partnership has supported projects across the UK, including streets, parks and schools.

Bauer Media Outdoor highlights decade of urban greening

Will Ramage, UK Managing Director and Europe Business Development, Bauer Media Outdoor: "Our partnership with Trees for Cities is something we're incredibly proud of. For the past decade, we've worked together to help create greener urban spaces and support local communities. This anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate the impact we've made together and remind people how advertising can help fund tangible improvements to our public spaces."

Bauer Media Outdoor has planted and cared for close to 8,000 urban trees with Trees for Cities and invested more than £1m in the partnership. The work forms part of the media company's longer-term upgrade and investment programme for public infrastructure and telecommunications.

Trees for Cities partnership supports UK communities

Kate Sheldon, Chief Executive, Trees for Cities: "Everyone deserves to enjoy the benefits of urban trees. But many parts of our towns and cities don’t have enough trees, which means communities are missing out on essential benefits like shade, cooling, reduced flooding and urban nature. Our partnership with Bauer Media Outdoor has resulted in the planting and growing of thousands of trees where they’re needed most, creating greener, leafier neighbourhoods. Every tree we plant together takes us a step closer to a fairer and more sustainable future."

The partnership has also involved employee volunteering and community-based maintenance. A survey of 680 volunteers involved in planting and maintenance during 2025/26 found that 88 percent reported learning something or developing a skill they did not previously have.

Edible Playgrounds expand across UK schools

Trees for Cities' Edible Playgrounds programme has also expanded through the partnership. The scheme transforms school grounds into outdoor learning spaces where children can grow produce while learning about nature and sustainability.

Bauer Media Outdoor has funded 16 Edible Playgrounds through its social value commitments with local authorities. The projects are located in schools in London, Newcastle, Sunderland and Glasgow.

OOH media supports environmental initiatives

The anniversary campaign also highlights Bauer Media Outdoor's wider support for Trees for Cities, including donated media space and employee participation in community projects. Most recently, employees volunteered at Ravenor Park in Greenford, London, where they helped transform an underused section of the park into an urban woodland.

The companies plan to continue their partnership with further urban tree planting and Edible Playgrounds installations in the pipeline.
