WPP partners with MACH Alliance to scale AI adoption
WPP has announced a global partnership with the MACH Alliance, aimed at helping enterprise businesses adopt artificial intelligence at scale through composable technology. The move unites WPP’s MACH-certified agencies AKQA, Ogilvy One and VML under one global membership.
The partnership responds to growing demand among brands for more agile and flexible technology stacks. MACH principles – microservices, API-first, cloud-native and headless architecture – allow companies to integrate AI and other new tools without overhauling their entire systems, enabling faster innovation and adaptation to shifting consumer behavior.
Stephan Pretorius, Chief Technology Officer, WPP: "In today's market, technological agility is the core driver of competitive advantage, particularly to keep up with the changing demands of consumers in the age of AI. The expansion of our partnership with the MACH Alliance is a direct investment in our clients' and teams' success, giving them the modern foundation they need to unlock the full potential of AI and the power to not just adapt to the future, but to build it."
Through the partnership, WPP will work with the MACH Alliance community to help shape industry best practices and develop standards for AI integration, ensuring clients benefit from future-ready technology solutions.
Holly Hall, Managing Director, MACH Alliance: "WPP's global reach and deep industry expertise in helping brands navigate technological transformation align perfectly with our mission. Through this partnership, we can accelerate the adoption of MACH principles and enable more organisations to build composable, AI-ready architectures that deliver measurable business outcomes."
The partnership aligns with WPP’s wider £300 million annual investment in data and technology, including its AI platform WPP Open, now used by more than 69,000 employees. It follows collaborations with MACH Alliance members such as AWS, Braze, Contentful, Google Cloud, Stripe and Vercel.
