Slideshare unveils redesign with AI tools

Slideshare, a Scribd, Inc. platform, has launched its first large-scale redesign since its founding in 2006. The update introduces a modern visual identity alongside AI-powered tools aimed at helping its 70 million monthly users create and share presentations more efficiently.

The platform, home to more than 25 million slide decks, has been repositioned to balance its original content-first approach with features that support professional and academic users. The redesign was developed with design agency Mother Design, extending a partnership that previously included Scribd and Everand.

Slideshare is rolling out tools designed to ease the presentation creation process, including AI commands that can rephrase, simplify, or adapt slides for different audiences. Early-stage tests also explore organizational and comprehension tools to reduce repetitive work.

Other updates include expanded download options for more file formats and improved user content reporting for quicker issue resolution. The redesign places creator content at the center of the platform, with updated pages, icon fonts, and navigation features to help audiences discover ideas more easily.

Slideshare’s update arrives as presentations gain broader cultural relevance, from investor decks and slide-based resumes to social media trends such as slideshow parties on TikTok. With presentation software demand growing nearly 17 percent year over year, the platform is positioning itself to attract users who rely on slides as a format for both professional communication and creative expression.

Mike Lewis, Senior Director, Product, Slideshare: "Presentations can be daunting. We all know the feeling of staring at a blank slide with no idea where to begin. Slideshare takes the pressure off with a library of rich content that ignites your presentation-creation journey, whether you are looking for lesson plans, adapting training guides, or building a pitch deck. This redesign is just the beginning. We are rolling out tools that help people quickly adapt and refine slides for different audiences, so they spend less time on busywork and more time making an impact."

The redesign introduces a navy and orange palette, updated typography, and a refreshed logo referencing the shape of slides. The design language aims to be professional yet approachable, emphasizing clarity and accessibility.

Jo Tulej, Creative Director, Mother Design: "The new Slideshare identity brings the brand firmly into the present with a distinctive, exciting design that encourages you to believe that fantastic presentations are easily within your reach. By balancing cues of authoritativeness, reassurance and expressiveness, the new look demonstrates that Slideshare understands the stress of making presentations, and that you're in the absolute best place to kick-start your journey."

Fedor Vasilyev, Principal Product Designer, Slideshare: "We’re also redesigning our pages and carousels to put creator content at the center, helping audiences discover ideas more easily. And this is just the start; we'll continue evolving the Slideshare experience so every presentation feels like an invitation to explore what's possible."

Slideshare continues to position itself as a bridge between idea discovery and finished decks, offering a library of content across 40 categories. Technology, business, and science remain the most common topics, with educators, professionals, and students among the most active contributors.

Looking ahead, Scribd plans to extend Slideshare’s AI-driven tools for smarter discovery and deeper analysis, reinforcing its role as a hub for knowledge-sharing and professional development.
