PubMatic launches AI platform to boost publisher revenue

PubMatic has introduced an AI-powered monetization platform designed to give publishers greater control over yield, data, and demand. The platform brings together automated revenue optimization, first-party data monetization, and direct access to high-value media budgets in a single system.

The company positions the launch as a response to disruption in traffic sources and advertising models, with publishers increasingly expected to act as strategic partners to advertisers rather than passive suppliers of inventory.

A core feature of the platform is PubMatic Assistant, which uses natural language interfaces to simplify deal management for private marketplaces and programmatic guaranteed deals. The tool streamlines setup, troubleshooting, reporting, and monitoring, with real-time analytics and AI-driven root cause analysis to improve operational efficiency.

The platform also extends PubMatic’s Connect and Activate offerings, enabling publishers to monetize first-party data through AI-powered contextual enrichment and off-site activation. At the same time, auction visibility provides real-time insights into demand, brand suitability, and market trends, helping publishers identify performance gaps and revenue opportunities.

Rajeev Goel, Co-Founder and CEO, PubMatic: "The myth of the passive publisher is over. Media owners must embrace innovation now more than ever. Publishers are the true value creators of the open internet and our new AI platform helps publishers gain transparency and insights to attract advertisers and control their monetization for sustainable revenue streams from their content."

The platform arrives at a time when digital advertising revenue is projected to reach 770 billion US dollars in 2025, according to eMarketer. PubMatic aims to help publishers compete with walled gardens by offering transparent auction dynamics, premium inventory access, and enhanced control over brand safety and performance.

Industry partners have endorsed the platform’s potential. Tyler DeNicola, VP of Programmatic Revenue and Partnerships at A+E Global Media, said the integration of AI-driven tools empowers the company to optimize yield and maintain transparency across screens. Jordan King, National Digital Sales Director at Seven, described AI as critical for building smarter, more efficient monetization pathways.

The AI platform is now available to PubMatic’s network of nearly 2,000 publishers across CTV, mobile, display, and emerging formats.
