Eli Ferrara takes AI leadership role at Omnicom
Omnicom Advertising Canada has appointed Eli Ferrara as head of AI, Canada, marking the first role of its kind within the network in the country. The position reflects a broader push to integrate artificial intelligence across its agency operations.
In this role, Eli Ferrara will oversee AI strategy and the application of emerging technologies across key agencies, including TBWA\Canada and McCann Canada.
Expanding AI strategy across agency network
Eli Ferrara’s remit includes developing a unified AI strategy, building scalable systems, and establishing technology partnerships. He will also advise leadership teams while supporting training and adoption across the organisation.
A key focus will be the integration of agentic AI workflows, moving beyond generative tools toward systems capable of managing more complex, multi-step processes within creative and operational environments.
Eli Ferrara, Head of AI, Canada at Omnicom Advertising: "I’m excited to step into my new role as Head of AI, Canada at Omnicom Advertising. In this position, I’ll work closely with our creative agencies to help shape our AI strategy and advance innovative applications of emerging technologies. I don’t view AI simply through the lens of back-office automation or efficiency. Instead, I see it as a powerful enabler that allows our teams to do what they do best: invent, empathise, create, and connect with consumers on a deeply human level. It also opens the door to entirely new pathways for creative expression that were not possible before."
Focus on creativity and operational transformation
The appointment signals a shift toward embedding AI within both creative development and business operations. By focusing on systems that enhance workflows, the company aims to balance efficiency gains with creative output.
Bryan Kane, CEO of Omnicom Advertising Canada: "Eli has consistently demonstrated the kind of leadership that moves both our people and our clients forward. He’s a trusted partner across our agencies and with the brands we serve, always pushing us to explore how emerging technologies can elevate creativity rather than replace it. As AI continues to transform our industry, Eli will play a critical role in ensuring Omnicom Advertising Canada remains at the forefront and leads with responsible, innovative and creatively distinctive applications of AI that help our agencies deliver stronger ideas, clearer brand differentiation, and measurable effectiveness for our clients."
Track record in creative technology
Eli Ferrara brings a background in computer science and creative technology, with recognition from industry bodies including Ad Age. His previous work spans projects such as BMO NXT LVL, a banking experience on Twitch, and Spotify Spreadbeats, a music video created using spreadsheet software.
His work has also been recognised at major global award shows, including Cannes Lions, The One Show, Clio Awards, Effie Awards and D&AD Awards.
The appointment underlines Omnicom Advertising Canada’s focus on embedding AI capabilities into its long-term strategy, positioning the network to adapt to evolving demands in creative and technology-driven marketing.
