DoubleVerify adds AI controls to Meta Threads
DoubleVerify has introduced AI-powered pre-screen content controls for advertising on Meta’s Threads feed, giving brands greater control over where ads appear before campaigns are served.
The release expands the company’s existing brand suitability tools for Threads, following the rollout of post-bid measurement capabilities in October 2025. Together, the two offerings are designed to provide advertisers with broader oversight of media quality and content alignment.
Pre-screen and post-bid tools work together
The pre-screen controls evaluate content before impressions are purchased, helping advertisers avoid placements that fall outside selected brand suitability standards. Post-bid measurement then reviews delivered impressions to show where ads appeared and whether placements aligned with advertiser expectations.
Mark Zagorski, CEO, DoubleVerify: “Advertisers expect more control over the environments where their advertising appears. With AI-powered content-level controls on Threads, we’re helping brands better align ads with content that meets their standards while driving stronger performance and measurable outcomes.”
According to DoubleVerify, the controls automatically identify and avoid content classified under the company’s Brand Risk Floor and Brand Suitability Tiers.
Additional content avoidance categories added
Advertisers can also apply more detailed content alignment settings through 30 additional avoidance categories, including Youth Entertainment and Gambling. The controls are refreshed hourly to reflect changing content conditions without requiring manual updates.
The system is powered by DV Universal Content Intelligence™, DoubleVerify’s AI-driven classification technology that analyses video, image, audio and text signals across digital environments.
For video analysis, the platform reviews content frame by frame while using key frame extraction to remove redundant visuals. DoubleVerify said the approach is intended to improve efficiency while maintaining classification accuracy.
Threads update expands media verification offering
Brand suitability tools form part of DoubleVerify’s Media AdVantage Platform, which combines media verification, campaign performance optimisation and outcomes measurement.
The company said the expanded Threads controls are intended to help advertisers strengthen brand protection while improving confidence in campaign delivery and return on ad spend.
